During the preoperative visit, the surgeon must analyze the patient's general health and medical history, to verify her eligibility for surgery. Also, he or she must carefully evaluate the characteristics of the breast, the quality of the tissue and the area to be improved, in order to explain what is actually achievable with this procedure.
The patient should avoid taking nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs 10 days before and after surgery, as these drugs interfere with blood clotting processes, increasing the risk of bleeding and thus the development of complications.
If the patient is a smoker, it is also advisable to stop or at least reduce cigarettes, as many scientific studies have shown that smoking interferes with the normal healing process and increases the risk of complications.
How it works
How does breast lipofilling work in Turkey?
Breast lipofilling is performed under general or local anesthesia. The duration of the procedure varies depending on the amount of fat to be injected and the number of areas treated. It can last from 30 minutes to two hours.
Breast lipofilling surgery involves two surgical phases:
- Adipose tissue removal: after infiltrating an anesthetic solution, adipose tissue is removed from areas of localized adiposity. The collected adipose tissue is washed with physiological solution and then put in a centrifuge to separate the adipocellular component from the serum and oil fraction.
- Reimplantation phase: the purified adipose tissue is reimplanted into the breast to increase its volume.

What is the outcome of breast lipofilling in Turkey?
The result of breast lipofilling can be appreciated once the swelling and bruising subsides. It can be considered definitive after 3 to 6 months.
A breast lipofilling allows for a lasting result unlike breast augmentation with hyaluronic acid. It is in fact a true transplant of the patient's own cells: the grafted cells remain alive as long as the tissues into which they were grafted.
There may be a loss of 10 to 30% of the amount of fat reinjected due to normal resorption. The surgeon takes this into account when assessing the amount of fat cells to be transplanted. In some cases, a second procedure may be required to achieve the desired shape.
